^^^bagged up leftovers from the shoot
Earlier this week I found myself in Hackney, assisting a the fantastic food stylist Uyen Luu on a cookbook. It was absolutely fascinating to watch a group of professionals work, their attention to detail and passion for the job was so inspiring. Whilst I picked up so many little tips, the two main ones I will be taking away with me in the future is layering backgrounds to create more depth (like here) and to (if you can) tether your camera to your computer so you can see the photos as you take them which allows you to be more critical. I also learnt of this prop warehouse (I would be like a kid in a sweetshop there) and will be adding a Wacom tablet to my Christmas wishlist, along with Uyen Luu’s book My Vietnamese Cookbook which looks absolutely fantastic.
